The new (rumored) 24-inch iMac alongside the potential new design of the iMac Pro

Apple Silicon is the name Apple will be using for their custom made ARM-based chips that will be transitioning over to the next two years.

At WWDC Apple revealed a Mac mini as the first such Mac to have an Apple Silicon chip inside, and this was an Apple A12Z, the same chip as inside the iPad Pro 2020 — but this Mac mini is only for developers.

When will the first Silicon Mac be available for the public?

Apple said that the first MacBook with an Apple Silicon chip will arrive by the end of 2020. It seems like this new Mac will be either the 12-inch MacBook or a new 13-inch MacBook Pro, or even a MacBook air. …

What to expect from the next Apple Watch lineup

Rendering of what the Apple Watch Series 7 could look like

The next-generation Apple Watch is expected to get a redesign sooner than later. According to Ming-Chi Kuo (a credible leaker with a really good track record), he expects that a “significant form factor design change would come with new Apple Watch models in 2021 at the earliest.”

It’s looking like this release is gonna feature a complete body redesign. Although some people are saying it’s gonna be a circular design, I personally don’t think that’s very Apple-like. Looking at the newer iPhones and iPads, we can expect a squared-off edge and an overall boxier feel from this watch. The square design of the current watch is also the look that separates Apple’s smartwatch from any other smartwatch on the market. …

Latest design of the Mac Pro (released in 2019)

With the successful launch of the new M1 MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 13-inch, and Mac Mini, we’re just starting that 2 transition journey moving from Intel chips to Apple’s own Apple Silicon.

Although most people don’t have the budget or need for the Mac Pro, here’s everything we know regarding its own upgrade to the M1 chip.

The Mac Pro came out about 14 years ago (2006), and it replaced the G5 Mac that was out at the time. The G5 had a Power PC inside it so this was actually the original transition from Power PC to the famous Intel chips. …

What exactly to look for when purchasing a new Apple Silicon Mac

Apple has done many weird things with the Apple Silicon transition that no one was expecting. If you’re in the market for something like a MacBook Air or a Mac Mini, now is the time to buy. The main reason is neither of these devices is gonna get major updates in the near future. Apple has given them the M1 chip, and it seems like they don’t plan on doing anything else, at least for the next year or so.

For a lot of laptops, Apple will refresh them every six months. However, those two aren’t likely to get any changes. Yes, the Mac Mini could be redesigned to a little smaller or made to better utilize desktop chips but considering Apple’s history with how they handled the Mac mini, they don’t care enough about it to update it regularly. …

Rendering of what the new MacBook model will look like

A lot of people were disappointed not to see a MacBook Pro 14-inch in Apple’s latest event. I’m here to tell you that there’s still some great news about the launch of this new MacBook Pro.

Earlier this year, we witnessed the release of Apple’s new chip — the M1. This new hardware is now inside the latest MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 13-inch, and Mac Mini.

As many of you know, we haven't gotten an updated design of the iMac in quite a while. In fact, the last design has been in Apple’s iMac lineups for almost a decade now.

Well, according to rumors there is a new line of iMacs coming, and they’re all expected to get a complete redesign along with the new Apple Silicon.

At WWDC Apple released a Mac Mini as the first Mac to have an Apple Silicon chip inside it, the Apple A12Z. So when can we expect new Apple Silicon iMacs?

Apple said the first Mac with an Apple Silicon chip will arrive by the end of 2020, and as we’ve seen these newly released M1 Macs did not include the iMac. …

Rendering of what the latest iPad mini could look like

Let’s get into the latest leaks and everything we know so far about the iPad Mini 6 launch date and everything else you should expect in terms of the price, specs, performance, etc.

In 2020, we‘ve had updates to the iPad Pro’s in March, the iPad Air with the redesign, and the 8th generation regular iPad with an upgraded processor inside it. This means all the iPads have been updated recently, except the iPad Mini line.

The iPad Mini was last updated over 18 months ago in March 2019. It got an upgrade of an A12 Bionic processor, some camera upgrades, and also a true tone screen. …

This $100 phone is more powerful than you’d think!

The iPhone 6s was released in 2015 but is still being supported by Apple with their latest software update, and yes.. it does also have a headphone jack.

So, is this $100 iPhone really usable for the average person?

When it comes to the performance, this five-year-old phone with 2Gb of RAM doesn’t sound like it is worth it in 2020, but the reality of using it is different.

For all the lack of hardware, this phone makes up with the software which is one of the reasons why I considered writing about it in the first place. It runs iOS 14 which means it’s still supported by Apple and will remain that way until next year. …

Since the RAM has experienced some changes with the new M1 Macs, you might be wondering what amount of RAM is right for you. Well, let’s compare.

The long-awaited Apple Silicon Macs are here. Besides the fact that these Macs are no longer Intel-based, there’s a huge change this year and that is to do with RAM amounts. We’ve only got two options 8Gb or 16Gb.

Since there are already some scores from Geekbench 5 out there I thought the best thing we can do is look at an M1 MacBook Air Benchmark of 8Gb vs 16Gb. I’ll test both on GeekBench 5 (single-core + multi-core).

An M1 8Gb MacBook Air gets an average of 1700 points which is one of the most powerful scores for any Macs right now. An even more surprising score is the multi-core score that gets around 7500 points. …

Price skimming, the decoy effect, and penetration pricing explained

A pricing strategy involves setting the initial price and then providing a plan for changes of prices in the future.

The pricing of something usually depends on three major factors:

  1. The cost of raw materials and services involved in making the product.
  2. The miscellaneous costs which include sales tax import and export duties etc.
  3. The profit that the manufacturers take.

Based on these three factors, there are three major strategies that phone manufacturers generally follow.

Price skimming

Price skimming is a strategy followed by premium brands where the products are priced very high with higher profits so that fewer sales are needed to break even for the manufacturer. …
